So Far From the Bamboo Grove (setting)

I thought that this book might be really boring. However, as I read I found out lots of interesting things. It is about a Japanese girl named Yoko who is living in northern part of the Korea. She has a mother, a father, a sister, Ko, and a brother, Hideyo. It doesn’t mention the name of mother and father’s name. It is after the war and Anti-Japanese Korean Communist Army is trying to capture Japanese. Yoko and their family are trying to run away and get back to Japan. This is the setting of the “So Far From the Bamboo Grove." They are still findng more things out and I'm still finding lots of things about the characters. I think that the setting will change too.
